Since 2008, REFORMA has been working to establish a Foundation to systematically seek out funds to further the mission of our organization. I am privileged to announce that we are a step closer to achieving this goal. The Foundation has received the certificate of formation from the state of Texas. We have completed all the paperwork needed to apply for an IRS C 501 (C3) non-profit status. The package to the IRS will be sent this week from Anaheim.
To help launch the Foundation, the first annual Denim & Diamonds Gala dinner/dance was held at ALA Annual.
The proceeds went to provide the seed funds to the Foundation.
This historic event was possible because of the effort of many Reformistas, specially the REFORMA chapter of Orange County who graciously accepted the challenge to host it. We call once more on the great generosity of our colleagues in the profession who have demonstrated steady support for the goals of our organization.
With great appreciation,
Maria F. Kramer
